Nike Shox Original 2001 Shoe Store Display

There is some weight to this piece as there is a voice box inside. It used to work when I first salvaged it out of a local shoe store. I've had it stored for the last 15 years. There's a tiny hole in the top middle, and when it sensed that the shoe had been picked up off the display, a voice would exclaim "BOING". This part is no longer working though. Could be fixed? Otherwise a cool looking piece with NIKE SHOX debossed into it.
